Covers For Trailers

A trailer cover is a piece of fabric that is designed to fit around the sides and over the top of the trailer cage and protect the cargo from wet weather, while also adding another layer of security.

A trailer cover is not an essential accessory, however if you are transporting cargo that you don't want to get wet or blow away (such as some landscaping materials) a trailer cover is an excellent choice.

The two most common trailer cover materials are canvas and polypropylene. The main advantage of canvas is its durability, as it can stand up to repeated use and abrasion without tearing, ensuring your cargo stays protected even in the most challenging conditions. Polypropylene covers have the advantage they are water-repellant and allow water to bead off and evaporate once it stops raining. However, polypropylene covers tend to be less durable than canvas covers, tearing more easily, and wearing out with frequent use, giving them a much shorter service life.
